Landmarks are refining sustainability communications to reach the widest possible audience.
TfS delivers the de facto global standard for environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance of chemical supply chains. Committed to improving sustainability, TfS developed the PCF Guideline to help companies collect high-quality carbon footprint data for their products, enabling them to track - and ultimately reduce - emissions. Landmarks developed the initial PCF Guideline in English, but to reach the required global audience, this complex document needed to be available in Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Landmarks harnessed the power of collaboration, implementing a secure, online platform for the translation of this 50,000-word document. Translators were able to work on- or offline using their preferred tools (text, xliff, or a simple web interface), with AI-generated translations available to speed the process. Content and layout were kept entirely independent, ensuring that even the text of complex diagrams was translated accurately.
Contextual translation memory increased productivity, with the capacity for human error reduced. Translators were able to concentrate on what they do best, using the tools they are most comfortable with, whilst Landmarks ensured that an elegant and readable guideline is published on time and within budget to a global audience.
